Arsenal’s Johan Djourou is finding a couple of suitors in the Bundesliga after his successful loan spell there during last season with Hannover.
Speaking about the situation, which sees Hannover and Hamburg both interested in signing the player, Djourou said
I do not know what will happen. At Arsenal I still have a contract that gives me security.
Loan options are being suggested for both clubs as it seems that Arsenal are reluctant to let the centreback, whom Arsene Wenger rates highly, go on a permanent basis, although it would seem strange to not just let him go if he is just going to have loan after loan and you have willing parties.
The Swiss paper Blick are reporting that Wenger tried to keep Djourou at Arsenal last season rather than letting him go out on loan while Hannover and Djourou are keen to continue the relationship with the Swiss international moving his wife Emilie and his two daughters to Hannover. Hamburg’s Thorsten Fink wants Djourou to reinforce his backline.
Djourou’s contract with Arsenal runs until 2015.
